Rustic Volunteers is a 501 C3 Not-For-Profit organization running one of the world’s leading volunteer abroad programs.
We are based in Dallas, Texas and have been offering life-changing volunteer experiences to thousands of young Americans in 18 countries since 2006.
Fully committed to making sure the help gets to where it is most needed, our programs are the most affordable in the US; and your fees are paid directly to the host families and projects (through country coordinators) rather than eaten up by administrative fees.
Our experienced network of coordinators provides the most affordable and rewarding volunteer experience possible, bringing much-needed assistance to families in need around the world.

It is difficult to generalize but, in the case of a 4-week program in Costa Rica for instance, our program costs around $764 including all accommodation, meals, project coordination and program support. This compares with fees between $1060 and $4976 for 4-week programs with other US volunteer organizations.
Many volunteer organizations have high overheads, running costs and profit targets that reduce the amount of money that actually ends up with the people that need it. We are a ‘lean’ organization and fees are paid directly to the local projects and families through our country coordinators.
With 8 destinations in Asia, 6 destinations in Africa, and 7 destinations in Latin America, we run programs in areas of the world that are most in need of assistance; at the same time they are home to inspiring people and projects that really make a difference to the lives of the local people and to volunteers.
